Mr. Louis George Blanchard, 75, of Cottageville, South Carolina, formerly of Westford, New York, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Medical University of South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 6, 1941 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Wilfred Blanchard and Pauline Loya Blanchard. He was a master machinist at Ingersoll Rand. He was Chief Engineer for 10 years of the Nasonville, Rhode Island Fire Department. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed traveling and was devoted to his family.
He was the loving husband for 53 years of Carol Ann Rademsky Blanchard. Also surviving are his sons, Louis Blanchard, Jr. and his companion, Cynthia Dague of Manchester, New Hampshire and Christopher Blanchard and his wife Sally of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Tyler Blanchard, stationed in Hawaii, Zachary Blanchard and his wife Tawnya and their daughter Shelby, stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Marissa Blanchard of Manchester, New Hampshire, Holly Ramsey of Charleston, South Carolina, and Dalton Ramsey of Charleston, South Carolina. Louie is also survived by his step-mother, Barbara Blanchard of Taunton, Massachusetts; and sisters, Theresa Morin, Karen Houard, Diane Blanchard, and Sandy Dahlfried. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Louie also leaves behind a special nephew, Bob Blanchard and wife Cindy; and a special niece, Bridgette West and husband Rick; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
