A fire, suspected of being intentionally set, destroyed the interior of a single-wide mobile home on Hardee Circle the evening of Nov. 24.
Firefighters arrived at the structure at 43 Hardee Circle Nov. 24 at 11:26 p.m. to find it heavily involved.
Colleton County Fire-Rescue personnel used two hoses to combat the fire and quickly knocked down the bulk of the flames within 10 minutes, containing the damage to the interior of the building.
Crews had to pull some siding from the north end of the building to gain access the burning debris inside. They were on the scene performing overhaul for over two hours.
The home was vacant and evidence at the scene indicated the residence was initially set on fire.
Firefighters were on the scene through the night and were involved in the investigation most of the next morning. Arson investigators from Fire-Rescue, SLED and investigators from the Sheriff’s Office are working the case.
Anyone with information related to the fire are urged to contact the SLED Arson Hotline at 1-800-922-7766, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 549-2211 or Fire-Rescue Headquarters at (843) 539-1960.
