CrossFit Always Strong hosted “Battle in the Boro” this past Saturday to determine the fittest male and female athlete. The competition was designed to test their athletes across a broad spectrum of events such as presses, power snatches, burpees, rows and runs.
Finishing in first place in the men’s division was Richard Massey. Jimbo Warner earned a second-place finish, while Chad Dewitt was third.
Cierra Aiken took the first-place finish in the women’s division, following the injury of her only competition – Lauren Dewitt.
“The competition was about testing total fitness,” said Lawrence Wiggins, owner and head trainer at CrossFit Always Strong. “There were three events which tested the different aspects of fitness, strength, endurance and anaerobic activity. Each event allowed a certain number of points based on your finish. Theoretically, you could never win in an event, yet still garner the overall championship.”
