TEED OFF. Earning the Dead Last Trophy was the team of “Teed Off” with Gale Doggette, Patti Lohr, Kim Bridge and Holly Mardell with their caddies – Erik Lindstrom and Dale Munn.
The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie Golf Tournament to benefit the college’s basketball and volleyball programs was held at Dogwood Hills Golf Course this past Friday. With 13 teams participating in the fundraiser, the tournament was a huge success for the fall sports at Salk.
According to Jane Brewer, USC Salkehatchie athletics director and associate dean for student affairs, the proceeds from fundraising will go a long way toward helping fill the gaps for the athletic programs.
“We’d like to thank all the teams for participating in the golf tournament and our sponsors for their support,” said Brewer. “The proceeds from the event will help fund the basketball and volleyball teams with some items on their wish list or possibly help with scholarship needs.”
Finishing in first place in the tournament was the four-man team of Zach Armentrout, Matt Avant, Andrew McConnell and David Mays. The second place team was comprised of Rusty Adams, Tiger Martin, Mark Tomedolskey and Jim Nolte. Earning the Dead Last Trophy was the team of “Teed Off” made-up with Gale Doggette, Patti Lohr, Kim Bridge and Holly Mardell with their caddies – Erik Lindstrom and Dale Munn.
