A Walterboro man was brought into the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office July 22 to be questioned about a post on his Facebook page.
“Let’s strap up and head to Hampton St.,” the man allegedly posted along with three gun emojis. In another post he allegedly wrote, “:speed this war up.”
The incident report explained that both the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and Walterboro Police Department are on Hampton Street. Because of the recent attacks on police officers nationwide, the officer told the poster, his comments were viewed as a threat to law enforcement.
The man said he was not serious, adding that he didn’t own a gun.

Them whites riding around wasn’t an act of racism, it was a memorial ride to honor a friend who had past away in an accident that weekend, who flew the flag for heritage not hate. Really, everyone wants to pull the race card automatically when anything happens. As for the post above, should the person have been brought in by police, NO, because no where in that post did they threaten a police officer. The last time I rode down Hampton Street there was more then one building. As for the comment on the videos, I agree the officers were out of line and should be charged with a crime, until they are proven innocent. People in this town need realize not all Whites are racist and not all Blacks are Thugs.

What has the world come to. This is not how God would want us to act. If u don’t have nothing good to say don’t say nothing at all. I grew up with blacks never had any problem but when other starts talking racism everyone start chosen sides. This is one world and everyone should get along and teach our children to love one another not hate and seeing this and what is going on in the world today if we don’t show how to love one another we all will see our maker soon. We all our God’s children so we need to ask ourselves do u think God would want us like this and what about our children we should teach them the right thing. People need to think before they start talking and remember not everyone are mean and we do respect others no matter what color their skin are. Please. Everyone needs to come together and respect each other and start by showing one another we can love and do the right thing.

Sounds just like Colleton County and their corrupt, racist sheriff. I’m white btw. People need to vote in November and get him out of office. He said ” no one tells him what to do”. He makes up his own laws. People, we need to get together and have a huge march and get the news and media involved. STRICKLAND HAS GOT TO GO!!!-

With all the officers being killed lately this shows that a “joke” is not a joke. A lack in judgement, which will hopefully never happen again.

My son found a wallet on Washington St. turned it in to the police dept. Was questioned then followed, harassed then arrested. I’ve lived in Walterboro for over 20 years and for the last 4 years I’ve seen and been rascism at it finest. Colleton County needs to do better

Unless I’m missing something.. The statement wasn’t specific to police.. AT ALL… Nor did it say anything specific at all… “A call to arm” which is his 2nd amendment right is all I can interpret from it.. And a meeting location… The 1st amendment is still in effect btw… I wouldn’t have said a word.. This is bogus and unwarranted

We must get rid of the racist Andy Strickland as sheriff. Vote him out of office people. He is just on a power trip, and curses at and threatens suspects. Let’s bring him back down to earth and laugh at his failure.
