On dean’s list at Wofford
John William McAlhaney III of Edisto Island has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Wofford College in Spartanburg.
The list requires 12 semester hours and a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Sanders receives nursing degree
Allison Olivia Sanders received her B.S. degree in nursing on April 29 from the University of S.C. Beaufort, graduating cum laude.
She will be employed with Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

On dean’s list at Clemson
The following Colleton County residents have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Clemson University:
 Alexis Ontiona McCorkle of Cottageville, majoring in nursing;
 Mackie DuBoise Seabrook of Edisto Island, majoring in visual arts;
 Trey Cameron Black of Walterboro, majoring in mechanical engineering;
 Jack H. Bonds of Walterboro, majoring in pre-business;
 Mary H. Brown of Walterboro, majoring in health science;
 Elizabeth J. Lucas of Walterboro, majoring in animal and veterinary sciences;
 Emmanuel Lugo of Walterboro, majoring in electrical engineering;
 Joseph Trail Siegel of Walterboro, majoring in political science;
 Reilly Jo Malphrus of Yemassee, majoring in nursing;
 Hayden Chandler Smith of Yemassee, majoring in management.
To be named to the dean’s list, students must have a 3.5-3.99 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

On president’s list at Clemson
Four Colleton County students have been named to the president’s list at Clemson University. They are:
 Thomas O. Bowen IV of Green Pond, majoring in microbiology;
 Anna Caroline Davis of Walterboro, majoring in health science;
 Ansley Jackson Hiers of Walterboro, majoring in biological sciences;
 Roberto A. Lugo of Walterboro, majoring in nursing.
The president’s list requires a 4.0 (all As) grade point average.

Crosby plans to attend Winthrop
Kennedy Crosby, 2016 Colleton County High School graduate, plans to attend Winthrop University this fall. She plans to major in biology with an emphasis on the pre-professional pharmacy program. After graduate school, she hopes to specialize in critical care through residency and fellowship training.
Crosby received the Winthrop Garnet Scholar Award, Palmetto Girls State Scholarship, Salutatorian Scholarship, Winthrop Fellows Scholarship, Winthrop Grant Award and S.C. Palmetto Fellows Scholarship.
She participated in an academic signing on May 19 in Charleston.

Cottingham graduates Charleston Southern
Caitlin Cottingham of Walterboro received her degree from Charleston Southern University on May 7.

Three to attend Newberry College
Three Colleton County students and their families attended new student orientation at Newberry College: Jena McGuire of Walterboro, Shelton Reynolds of Walterboro and K’Yana Washington of Yemassee.

Five on dean’s list
Five Colleton County students have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Charleston Southern University:
 Jacqueline Tisdale of Round O, a senior majoring in biology;
 Deanna Whitten of Walterboro, a sophomore majoring in biology with pre-professional emphasis;
 Merrell Black of Walterboro; a senior in computer science;
 Brianna Tyler of Walterboro, a junior in graphic design;
 Elizabeth Frank of Walterboro, a freshman in pre-nursing.
The list requires a 3.5 or better grade point average with 12 or more credit hours.

Pye named  to provost’s list
Haley Pye of Walterboro has been named to the provost’s list for the spring semester at Presbyterian College in Clinton.
The list requires a 3.30 grade point average.
