WALTERBORO: Mr. Gregory S. Hudson, husband of Beth Drew Hudson, passed away Saturday evening at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was 63.

Mr. Hudson was born May 29, 1953 in Walterboro, a son of the late Homer Bowen Hudson and Sally Spell Hudson. He was a wildlife manager at the Donnelley Wildlife Management Area, which is part of the ACE Basin in Green Pond. Mr. Hudson was an avid outdoorsman, who cherished his time with nature, hunting and fishing. He was a mentor to many youth, always guiding them with a firm but fair demeanor. He was a strong believer in proper land management and wildlife conservation, and loved his pets “Lexi” and “Rice.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Terri Hudson Bolton (Tommy) of Columbia, by a brother, Christopher Sloan (Karla) of Denver, CO., and by a brother-in-law, Bobby Raborn of Myrtle Beach. He leaves behind his step-mother, June Griffin Hudson of Columbia, and a godson, A. Parker Barnes, III (Allison) of Columbia. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Hudson Raborn.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Stokes Cemetery at Hendersonville. Visitation will be held that morning beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of services. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the Salem United Methodist Church, 7191 Hendersonville Hwy., Walterboro, SC 29488.
