Three injured in Mt. Carmel Road wreck | News | The Press and Standard

Three women sustained serious injuries when their vehicle went off the roadway on Mount Carmel Road the afternoon of May 6.

Their Ford Expedition was traveling south on Mount Carmel Road when the driver lost control. The vehicle left Mount Carmel Road, overturned several times and came to rest on Sigwald Lane.

One woman, 19, was ejected from the vehicle and found unconscious in a ditch. She was treated at the scene, and transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in Summerville.

The two other females remained in the vehicle. A 21-year-old with suspected life-threatening injuries was also sent to Trident Medical Center.

The third woman, 23, was transported to Colleton Medical Center for treatment.

The accident was investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
