GPA and class rank: My GPA is 3.76 and I am currently ranked No. 51 in my class.
Athletic Awards: Lettered in football for two years, Iron Cougar Award and earned second (2016) and third (2015) place finishes in the South Carolina High School League State 4-A Weightlifting Competition.
College Interest: Charleston Southern University, Coastal Carolina, Limestone, Furman, Wofford and Presbyterian College.
Collegiate Athletics: I am pursuing continuing my football career in college, and maybe, other sports down the line.
Career Goals: I intend on majoring in physical education and would like to coach in the future. Coaching as a career interests me because I love being part of a team and would enjoy helping others be successful on the field and in life.
On high school sports: I love football because it brings everyone together as one to focus on accomplishing the goal at hand. Next year as a senior, I will try my hand at basketball, baseball and track.
Time travel: I would go back to the state weightlifting competition to change my squat weight by 5-pounds in order to be the state champion.
Role model: I would have to say that Coach McD (Ryan McDonnell, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at CCHS) has made me the man I am today. Because of all the hard work he has required of me over the past few years, I have gotten stronger and better in the weight room and on the field. He has also encouraged me to be successful in the classroom, as well. So, with that, thank you Coach McD!
Meaning quote: “I don’t know what my future holds, but I do know who holds my future.” -Tim Tebow.
Inspiring teacher: My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dowd, molded me to become the strong student I am today. I want to thank her for her commitment and dedication to being a great teacher.
Surprising Owen fact: I was unable to hear until the age of two because of multiple ear infections, which resulted in my eardrum bursting.
Meet & greet: I would want to meet Bo Jackson because he was one of the greatest athletes of his time.
