The Farmers Market kicked off its new season Saturday.
“It went really well — we had good attendance, a good showing of vendors,” Farmers Market Manager Ted Chewning said.
Those visiting the market found strawberries, greens, carrots, squash and fresh eggs. “A lot of early crops,” he said. “We had some early tomatoes.”
All the produce, he said, was from Colleton County farms.
“It was a very good day,” Chewning said. Next Saturday, he expects even more farmers with more produce available for sale.
