Barn on Green Pond Highway destroyed | News | The Press and Standard

An 800-square-foot barn was destroyed when an unattended debris fire was blown into a field in the 1100 block of Green Pond Hwy. Friday afternoon May 13.

At 2:40 p.m., multiple reports were made to 9-1-1 advising of the field and building fire. Engine 1 arrived minutes later to find the barn fully involved.

The structure collapsed shorted after firefighters arrived. Crews used multiple hoses to extinguish the blaze with water supply handled with tenders.

Firefighters were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.
