A single-vehicle accident sent two adult females to the hospital Tuesday afternoon April 26.

At approximately 6:27 p.m., a southbound Ford pickup left the roadway on Rehoboth Road (S.C. Hwy 651) at Van **** Road. The truck flipped over several times before coming to rest on the driver’s side. Both occupants were trapped in the wreckage.  It is believed the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.

Crews from Fire-Rescue Station 9, located a mile from the scene, arrived within minutes. A second ambulance was requested, while firefighter-paramedics began working to free the patients.

Firefighters removed the windshield using hand tools to extricate the two patients.

Both were transported to Colleton Medical Center.  Traffic in the 1500 block of Rehoboth Road was blocked for nearly an hour. The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

She was not going South . She was coming down Van Duke approaching 651. She had a seziour. She was traveling 15 mph at time of attack. The passenger grabbed the wheel and cut the wheel hard left.causing them to bounce over hill at which time the speed increase was great because of the angel the driver was shifted to from force of turn. The passenger has no drivers license and is also hep c positive. To my knowledge she told no one. Paramedics nor the Hospital. I didn’t find out myself until after I was cut by the glass looking for her money she thought was in the car. The driver my wife is ok , but is sore and has 7 staples in her head. Passanger had 8 fractures 4 in rib and 4 in back but not in the disc area just the outer parts . The passenger knew the condition of the driver and proceeded to disregard the ramifications of what could happen ,but continuely asked. My wife gave into helping her and gave her a ride to the store for cigarettes still telling her I don’t feel right. I did not know they had left . I called her and she told me they were on way home. That was the last time I heard from her until I was notified about the wreck. The passenger that I mentioned earlier bleed all over my wife not to mention touching her and everyone else at the scene. So my wife and I are now being sued by her because what my insurance company offered her wasn’t enough. It was not a small amount they offered either. I’m just glad nobody was hurt seriously because it could have been worse. Just thought people would like to know the true story. Please get the facts right .
