A Ridgeville woman lost her life the evening of April 3 when she was thrown from a motorcycle and was then struck by a motorist.
Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey reports that Stacy Leigh Greene, 44, of Ridgeville was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near the intersection of Sniders Highway and Cypress Pond Road.
He has listed the cause of death as multiple trauma.
Greene had been a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Michael Phillips, 52, of Ridgeville.
According to the report issued by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Phillips was riding his motorcycle south on Sniders Highway April 3 at about 6:30 p.m. when he struck the rear of a pickup truck driven by John Harper, 54, of Islandton. Harper had been slowing down to avoid a vehicle parked beside the roadway.
The impact then caused Greene to be ejected and land in the northbound lane where she was hit by a car traveling north driven by Tina Sanders, 31, of Estill.
Phillips was injured in the accident and was transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center.
