Despite a 3-RBI homerun in the sixth inning by senior Josh Craven, the War Hawk Baseball team dropped a region game 11-6 against Holly Hill.
In the April 5 road game, Nick Padgett got the start for Colleton Prep, before giving way to Josh Craven and Lawson Griffith in relief. Padgett recorded four strikeouts and allowed six walks across four innings with three earned runs on five hits.
Colleton Prep shut-out Thomas Heyward 5-0 on Thursday April 7 at home. Christopher Reeves picked up the win for the Hawks, after throwing a no-hitter before the seventh. Reeves recorded eight strikeouts and allowed one walk in the game. Matt Craven and Josh Craven recorded key hits for CPA.
The Hawks routed Jefferson Davis 16-1 in three innings of play on Friday evening at home. Joseph Bryan started on the bump and tossed a complete game for the win. Bryan had three strikeouts, while issuing one walk. The Hawks lineup recorded multiple hits in the game.
Colleton Prep is now 10-4 overall and 4-2 in region competition. They will face region opponents Andrew Jackson and Patrick Henry this week, along with non-region St. John’s Academy.
