The Colleton Prep JV War Hawks added two wins this past week, defeating Hilton Head Christian 11-1 in five innings and Calhoun Academy, 7-4.
Against Hilton Head, Brad Strickland earned the start on the mound for the War Hawks and went four innings before closer Dawson Sweat entered the game. Strickland and Sweat combined to throw a no-hitter for Colleton Prep, with the only run unearned following a walk and an error.  Leading hitters were Kyle Hooker, Pete Peters, Brandon Polk and Dylan Kinard.
Colleton Prep looked to Kyle Hooker for the start against Calhoun. Hooker pitched six innings before giving way to Sweat, Chance Palmer and Strickland.
Leading hitters were Pete Peters, Jared Griffith, and Strickland.
“Kyle pitched well,” said Head Coach Bill Kinard. “The three runs scored were unearned. It was good to have a game like Calhoun to see what we really have. The kids responded well to a little adversity on the road.”
The JV team will face Ridge Christian on Thursday March 17 in a home game at 4 p.m.
