Edisto Pride’s annual litter cleanup effort, held as part of the Great American Cleanup, is planned for this Saturday morning.
Ida Tipton, director of Edisto Pride, said volunteers will meet at the Community Center on Highway 174 at 9 a.m. and then, after receiving their supplies, will fan out in the community to tackle litter.
Tipton said those who cannot participate in Edisto Pride’s annual cleanup have several other options. Ocean Ridge MPOA will conduct a cleanup on March 21, and area churches and communities are also putting together cleanup plans.
Those needing supplies can email their requests to edistopride@AOL.com. Tipton said residents can use the same email address to report their cleanup results. The information, which is used to secure state funding for Edisto Pride’s programs, needs to be received before the end of April.
