Mr. Randall (Randy) Oliver McClendon entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 31, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 58 years old.
Randy was born July 14, 1957, son of the late Radford Franklin McClendon and Louise Craven McClendon. He was a member of the Live Oak Church of Christ in Walterboro. He is survived by his wife, Carla Watkins McClendon, his brother Jan Dane McClendon (Dane) of Walterboro and his only sister Rhonda Louise McClendon Lanier and husband Jared of Columbia, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, Radford Franklin McClendon and his two brothers, Radford Franklin McClendon, Jr. and Donald (Don) Wayne McClendon, and by his grandparents, Mr. Benjamin Radford McClendon and Alvah Thurston McClendon and Mr. Oliver Taylor Craven and Mrs. Mae Marie Barwick Craven.
He had a love of music, especially Hank Williams, Jr. He was known by many as “Rockin’ Randall”. He liked photography and Technology. His favorite job was driving an eighteen wheeler for Terra First. He loved his family.
He was primarily cared for by his loving brother Dane. He has a special niece Jana Taylor McClendon whom he loved like another daughter.
Randy leaves behind his children, two sets of twin girls and a son: Amanda McClendon Fletcher and (Kent) of Bluffton, SC, Olivia McClendon May and (Scott) of Ridgeland, SC, Victoria Allene McClendon and fiancé (Joshua Keiffer) of Ridgeland, SC and Vanessa McClendon Smoak and (Jason) of Yemassee, SC and Allene McClendon Malphrus (Mother) and Travis Kyle McClendon and (Alyssa Brodessor) of Troutville, VA and (Mother) Carla Watkins McClendon.
He leaves behind five grandchildren that he loved dearly: Leah and Luke, Sawyer, Nathaniel and Jaxon. He also has several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Pallbearers will be Scott May, Jason Smoak, Kent Fletcher, Joshua Keiffer, Chuck Walling, Mark Walling and honorary, Bryan Watkins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Parker Rhoden Funeral home of Walterboro, SC at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made, to the Live Oak Church of Christ, 507 Live Oak Street, Walterboro, SC.
