Colleton County High School’s Caleb O’Quinn qualified for the state competition in Anderson this Friday and Saturday.
The 120-pound senior won his weight division this past Saturday at Fort Dorchester High School for the AAAA Lower State 120-pound title.   O’Quinn came from behind to get a takedown in his semi-final match with Wando to advance to the finals.  Caleb scored a double-leg takedown with .05 remaining in the match.
In his final match, he faced top-ranked Octavious Davis from Westwood.
“Losing 1-0 with 15 seconds left in the match, O’Quinn defended a shot attempt by Davis and countered with a takedown to put Davis to his back and pull off an amazing feat of becoming Colleton County’s first AAAA Lower State champion,” said CCHS wrestling coach Packy Burke.
