CCHS’ NJROTC visits Tuskegee University | News | The Press and Standard

Thirty-seven cadets from the Colleton County High School NJROTC visited the historic Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala., during the Presidents’ Day Weekend.
The cadets stayed on the scenic and historical campus at the university’s Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center for two nights and dined in the university’s student cafeteria. They received guided tours of the campus by the University Ambassadors and the National Parks Service including the Booker T. Washington Monument, Booker T. Washington’s gravesite, the University’s Chapel, the George Washington Carver Museum and the home of Booker T. Washington, “The Oaks”. The cadets also visited the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s King Center, in Atlanta, Ga.
The cadets were accompanied by their NJROTC Instructor, CWO-3 Roger Williams, USMC (ret) and chaperoned by Carol Jones and Ericka Black.
The NJROTC Unit will hold its annual Awards Day program on Tuesday, April 19 at 10 a.m. in the Colleton County High School’s Gymnasium. The public is cordially invited to attend the free event.
