“Parents of Prodigals,” a support group for parents whose children have gotten in trouble, meets on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. at Skardon Hall at St. Jude Church, 907 Wichman St.
“My husband and I both have degrees in counseling and, through personal experience, have come to understand and sympathize with parents whose children get into trouble with the law or otherwise, and are confused, angry, hurt, etc.,” said Cindy Lee, who started the group with her husband, Byron.
The group offers parents a chance to talk about their experiences and study books from “Parents of Prodigals” to help work through their feelings and give them “strength to help your children,” Lee said.
The group does not offer legal advice, but “does help parents deal with their own feeling so that they may be there to help and love their children through the troubled times.”
